  I like Beatty Park but there's a big but, that is the lanes & pools might be 100% in use by a carnival or swim school, quite often there are only a few lanes to the general public. They have the info on which lanes/pools are free or not but there's no way of getting that information online. I tried calling and they weren't able or willing to get the info. Other pools, like challenger manage to give this info out...

  With Australia's climate & soaring heat waves though, I must say that the indoor swimming area is a winner....!! Especially for the little ones...!! I even just loved sitting in the stands watching races & my dad was a great water polo player, so I spent a lot of time here as a child.... Awesome memories.... It's going to be 31c today, so let's go.......

  Great community recreation centre. Very good and well maintained gym equipment. Bike lockers included in your membership which I like!

  Nothing but wonderful memories of this place, although I did love the original Beatty Park.... Before all the upgrades....!! Their is no grass to lay on anymore...The diving boards hardly get used as they are always closed....

  Often you see carers with people with special needs. Nice to see the whole community participating in exercise and recreation.

  No place is perfect, but BP does a great job all things considered.
